Don’t Privatize Our Water

The City of Chicago has a history of privatizing public assets in order to get a quick influx of cash to fill budget holes (the Chicago Skyway and the city’s parking meters were both leased out to private companies, to name a couple examples). Chicago’s economic state is not getting any better, but rather than looking for creative, long-term solutions, the city is continuing with their short-sighted strategy of looking for publicly owned resources to sell off to the highest bidder.
